Quiroga niega que su presencia sea de origen cristiano y la relaciona con mitologías indígenas, dioses de las lluvias y la atmósfera, además de cruces, espirales y meandros hallados en ídolos, vasos y otros objetos del Norte y del Sur. También discute ideas sobre migraciones, monogenismo y el uso ritual de la cruz en América y en el Viejo Mundo.
