Summary
The Dashwoods, an Australian rural family, spend time in the city while visiting different places and attractions. Mrs. Dashwood grows weary of urban life and longs for Fairfield and the farm, while the children bicker, joke, and plan separate outings. Old John also meets an old friend in town, and the family’s stay is marked by comic misunderstandings and lively domestic banter.
