Summary
Jack Brag, volume 2, follows Jack as he tries to sort out his feelings after receiving replies from two women in the same afternoon. He seeks Sir Charles Lydiard’s view on the widow he is inclined to choose, then encounters Rushton, whose suspicions about Blanche’s attachment make their conversation tense. The volume centers on Jack’s wavering choice, his attempts to gauge rival men’s reactions, and the social awkwardness surrounding his courtship.
