Summary
Goober Glendon and his young partner Johnny Wells arrive in Silver Bar on their way to the Keno range and spend the night in a local card game. There they meet Cal Sands, foreman of the Star A outfit, and learn that Frank Austin, once known to Goober, has become a wealthy financier and is due in town. The evening is interrupted by a shooting in which sheriff Nolan brings in a drunken young man accused of killing Jigger Slade, setting the town on edge around the death and the coming Austin family.
