Summary
A traveling salesman gives a ride to a hitchhiker named Almira after seeing her by a billboard on a highway at night. Their conversation turns oddly intense and abstract, and before long he finds himself far off his route and drawn to a remote cabin. There, her beauty and mysterious presence have a disturbing effect on him, and the story begins to move toward a vampire-like horror premise with hints of future science.
