Summary
Set in Piperock, Montana, this western follows Sheriff Magpie Simpkins and his companion Ike Harper as they deal with the town’s talk about law enforcement and the pressure to act against local outlaws. A sudden gunfight in town brings the Piegan Kid into view during an attempted robbery at the Cattlemen’s bank, and Magpie and Ike are drawn into the chase after him. The story centers on their rough-and-ready pursuit and the comic, dangerous burdens of Magpie’s office.
