Summary
In a vast galactic council of gods, Dalen proposes creating a new biped species, despite the resistance of the senior god Mogar. Mogar argues that physical beings are self-destructive and should not be trusted with life, while Dalen quietly insists that intelligence should be joined with sentiment. The story centers on their conflict over whether such a creation should be allowed in the IX Galaxy.
