Summary
Set in a Western ranch community, the story follows tension between the Circle C and Bar Y outfits after a Bar Y newcomer provokes a street confrontation with Sam Eaton, the feared fighter of Mayama Valley. The fight reveals that the newcomer has boxing skill rather than cowboy brawling, and the onlookers realize the Bar Y men are being trained with new methods. Old Walrus argues against escalating the feud with guns and urges the Circle C men to respond more cautiously.
