Summary
Set in the rough town of Perdition, this western follows Young Pete and Dave Hamill as they ride in, eat at a restaurant, and run into City Marshal Collins, who demands their guns be surrendered before they can stay in town. Pete stalls the marshal by insisting on receipts and claiming the weapon is empty, drawing the attention of a gambler known as the Spider, who offers help and advice. The story also sketches Perdition as a place of petty graft, armed control, and quick disputes over money, horses, and authority.
