Summary
Space rays follows Lt. Roger Lane and the crew of a patrol cruiser after their ship is overwhelmed by pirates armed with hand projectors and an overpowering space vessel. Stripped of weapons and sent adrift in a damaged escape ship, the men struggle toward Mars while facing low air and a crippled drive. The story also centers on Commander Morrison’s response and the arrival of Special-Captain Donald Barclay, who is known for carrying out difficult assignments.
