Summary
In Monte Vista, Sheriff Joe Cook is beset by two worries: a falling potato market threatens his farm income, and the elusive thief Foxy Fromera has again avoided arrest. His deputy, Shorty McKay, tries to calm him with advice to store the potatoes and take time away from the office. As the sheriff weighs whether to go fishing to clear his head, Shorty is already thinking about how to help him.
