Summary
Set in a bitterly cold snowbound mountain country, this western follows a deputy sheriff who tracks a fugitive through the snow after a killing in Galena. He finds the man camped by a dying fire, disarms him, and binds him to a lodge-pole tree while accusing him of murder. The scene is shaped by exhaustion, hunger, and the harsh winter wilderness as the two men face each other in the isolated backcountry.
