Summary
Sheriff Joe Cook is furious to find his deputy, Shorty McKay, spending time with the beautiful Señorita Dorothe while claiming to study Spanish. The town of Monte Vista is still troubled by the robbery of a stage carrying money, mail, and passengers’ valuables, and Cook has been frustrated by an unsuccessful chase through the Smoky Creek badlands. When he orders Shorty to prepare supplies for another ride, his suspicion grows that the deputy’s interest in Dorothe is distracting him from the search.
