Summary
In Monte Vista, Sheriff Joe Cook is frustrated after a masked bandit robs the Second National Bank and escapes with cash, leaving only a few vague clues. Deputy Shorty McKay reports that he has been gathering information and trying to organize a public celebration for local hero Max Hill, including plans to honor other heroes in town. The sheriff rejects the idea for the moment and sends Shorty and himself out to search the valley and nearby roads for the robber.
