Summary
Marshal Pete Williams in Gunsight City has jailed George DeNue, a smooth stranger wanted from Monte Vista for allegedly passing a worthless draft and taking eight hundred dollars from a bank. Sheriff Joe Cook and his deputy Shorty McKay arrive to take the prisoner back, and Shorty is disappointed to have been beaten to the arrest. DeNue proves proud and uncooperative during the handover, while the sheriff warns him against any trouble on the ride to Monte Vista.
