Summary
Helen R. Hull’s *The playboy* follows Gregory, a young man who lives at home, oversleeps, borrows money from his mother, and resents the practical demands around him. His morning is crowded with family interruptions, while he keeps thinking about Mina, who is coming back that day and seems to be the one woman who truly matters to him. The opening also shows Gregory uneasy about bills, money, and the way others see his flirtatious, self-indulgent habits.
