Kurzbeschreibung
Die Erzählung folgt Hubert Feuchtedengel, einem Medizinalpraktikanten in einem lothringischen Bezirkskrankenhaus, dessen Obsession ihn überzeugt, an einer Kopfsepsis zu leiden. Zwischen ihm und seinem Assistenzarzt Werner Strick entsteht ein grob-derbes Verhältnis, in dem Feuchtedengels Krankheitswahn immer wieder geprüft, zurückgewiesen und schließlich doch ärztlich behandelt wird. Der Text zeichnet dabei mit satirischer Zuspitzung eine medizinische Umgebung voller Machtspiel, Demütigung und eigentümlicher Verstrickung.
