Kurzbeschreibung
Der Text schildert die Fahrt des Flußkanonenboots S. M. S. Tsingtau in Südchina, das am 16. Mai 1914 von Kongmoon aufbrach, um von Wutschau aus Erkundungen in unbekannten Flußgebieten der Provinz Kwangsi vorzunehmen und die deutsche Kriegsflagge zu zeigen. Zu Beginn der Reise gerät das Schiff auf eine Sandbank und muß mit Maschinenmanövern wieder freigemacht werden. Dabei treten der Kommandant Kapitänleutnant v. Möller und sein Wachoffizier v. Wenckstern hervor, während die Fahrt stromaufwärts und die Eindrücke von Fluß, Ufer und chinesischen Dschunken beschrieben werden.
