Das Stück ist ein utopisches Kollektivdrama in drei Aufzügen in deutscher Übersetzung von Otto Pick. Es spielt in der Zentrale von Werstands Universal Robots und zeigt eine Fabrikwelt, in der Roboter in großer Zahl produziert, vermarktet und an Kunden in verschiedenen Ländern geliefert werden. Zu den Figuren gehören Fabrikleiter und Techniker ebenso wie Helene Glory, die die Anlage besuchen möchte und auf die Geheimhaltung der künstlichen Menschen stößt.
